Spain has not ruled out sending a Western Sahara independence activist, who is on hunger strike at a Spanish airport back, to the Moroccan territory, Deputy Prime Minister Maria Teresa de la Vega said. Aminatou Haidar has consumed only sugared water since November 16, three days after Moroccan authorities denied her entry at Laayoune airport in Western Sahara, took her passport and sent her back to Spain's Canary Islands. The 42-year-old mother of two was returning to her home town of Laayoune after a trip to receive a human rights award in the United States.
